Has anyone ever used Metanx for nerve repair/pain? Diabetics use it for peripheral nerve health. A co-worker brought it to my attention but I need to see what my doc thinks. Evidently it contains the bio-available form of folic acid.
Do b-vitamins help at all for nerve pain/disk pain? Will this be a waste of time?

never heard of mentax, but this is sorta for the same use. cymbalta.
my doctor switched me from prozac (which i use for depression), to cymbalta. apparently it's now used for nerve pain, fibromyaliga, neuropathic pain and more... it's supposed to work really well when you use it above 80mg -120 mg
also, try glocusomine (sp?).. they are OTC.

I took it for about 6 months, neurologist put me on it after he did the emg/ncv test. I stopped taking it, never noticed any changes. It was a prescription, not over the counter. Also the bottle had a warning about drowsiness...I did not need any more med's that make you sleepy.

Hello, I use Metanx for nerve repair for a very rare syndrome called CRPS. It is very painful and needs to be caught early, which mine was. Two different doctors recommended it.
I have never heard of it.....but my neuro doc loads me up with B vitamins and they seem to help
Mom of 5 wonderful kids who has to fight everyday for the will to continue. Four disc bulges (4mm each) from L4-S1. Severe sciatica and nerve damage in at least two different areas. Currently feeling like a druggie on Fentanyl, neurontin, cymbalta, vicodin, soma, and several laxatives to try and offset the above. God is going to answer my prayers soon!
